Morland Mixité Capitale by David Chipperfield Architects is an awarded renovation and extension project of an introverted administrative building of 1960 in Paris, France. While the building was previously only used for offices, the conversion of 2022 provided housing units, a hotel, a youth hostel, offices, retail, a gallery, a market hall and a childcare facility, increasing the usable surface area to 63 500m².
This project contributes to the social-ecological transformation by adapting the previously closed-off building into an open and lively space. The preservation of the initial structure promotes urban continuity, while the energy system and green roofing ensure an efficient use of resources and an integration of biodiversity.
