BASE Milano Cultural Center

Onsitestudio

The BASE Milano Cultural Center by Onsitestudio is a careful renovation project of an industrial building in Milano, Italy. While the building was previously only used for industrial purposes, the transformation of 2015 provided various spaces for the new cultural center, reactivating an area of 8000 m2 in the city of Milano.

This project contributes to the social-ecological transformation by embracing a design philosophy that promotes adaptability and inclusivity. By repurposing the former Ansaldo industrial building into a versatile cultural center, the project facilitates a dynamic interplay between various programs and activities. This approach fosters community engagement and interaction, transforming the space into a vibrant hub for cultural exchange and social cohesion. Through thoughtful architectural interventions that preserve the site's historical significance while accommodating modern needs, the project exemplifies a harmonious balance between conservation and innovation.
