The Kindergarten-House by Maria Giuseppina Grasso Cannizzo is a unique renovation project of an iconic original typology of the 1960s in Mazzarrone, Italy. While the building was previously used as a kindergarten, the transformation of 2018 converts it into a modern family home.

This project contributes to the social-ecological transformation by repurposing an existing two-level building through careful restoration and renovation. It is reducing the environmental impact with the incorporation of energy-efficient materials and techniques. Waste has been minimised by simply not demolishing the existing structure. By embracing adaptive reuse principles and promoting sustainable living, this project exemplifies a harmonious balance between socio-cultural preservation and ecological stewardship.
