Transformation of an old ballroom into multi-family housing by estudi marmar is an innovative renovation project of a historic building in Sant Esteve de Palautordera, Spain. While the building was previously only used as a dance hall, the conversion of 2021 provided 4 apartments.
This project contributes to the social-ecological transformation by preserving of the building's original features while enhancing energy efficiency and structural integrity. Strategies include reclaiming the original facade and reinforcing the existing structure. Additionally, the creation of a bioclimatic hall serves multiple functions, promoting energy efficiency, social interaction, and appreciation of preserved elements.
