Chokladfabriken by Jägnefält Milton is a challenging renovation project of a old factory of the 1920s in Stockholm, Sweden. While the building was previously only used for chocolate production , the conversion of 2011 provided apartments.
This project contributes to the social-ecological transformation by successfully fitting housing requirements into industrial structures while avoiding demolition and minimizing new construction. Lighting and ventilation problems caused by the building depth are solved by a light atrium, all apartments are connected to the existing staircase so no new staircases were needed.
