The DADA Distrikt by KOGAA Architects is a transformative renovation project of a historic industrial building from the 1930s in Brno, Czech Republic. Previously used for infrastructure and storage, its 2020 conversion has adapted the building into a mixed-use and residential complex with a variety of shared and community spaces. Besides having saved the massive concrete structure from demolition, this project facilitates social transformation through its inclusive design approach. By providing affordable housing, communal spaces, and fostering a sense of community, the project promotes social cohesion, diversity, and equity, enhancing the quality of life for residents and setting a precedent for inclusive urban development.
