COOP by BOGDAN & VAN BROECK is a conversion and expansion project of an old mill of original construction date in Brussels, Belgium. While the structure was previously only used for industrial purposes, the transformation of 2018 provided a new cultural centre, increasing the usable surface area from previous surface area to 5.099m².
This project contributes to the socio-ecological transformation by following the local needs and adding social value in form of an interpretation centre as well as an incubator for small and medium. The idea behind this concept is for architecture and the building itself to become active actors in redeveloping marginalised communities. The focus hereby lies on creating a set of constantly evolving projects rather than fixed rooms or spaces.
