Water Plant, Center for Architecture, Urban Culture and landscape by AGD is an restrained conversion project of a historic water and sewage plant of 1912 in Suceava, Romania. While the structure was previously only used for water infrastructural purpose, the conversion of 2012 provided cultural, educational and office spaces.
from previous surface area to new surface area .
This project contributes to the social-ecological transformation by restoring a degraded historical building for contemporary usage, preserving its memory while adding new cultural and working functions. Treatment to the original structure and material is restrained to the minimum, controlling the environmental impact and conserving the aesthetic value of the infrastructural past.
