Black Barn

ERNST Office

The Black Barn by ERNST Office is a bold renovation project of a former agricultural building of 1985 in Lindau, Germany. While the structure was previously only used for agriculture, the conversion of 2022 provided completely new living units.

This project contributes to the social-ecological transformation by repurposing an existing structure, reducing the need for new construction and preserving valuable resources. Additionally, the incorporation of sustainable design features such as energy-efficient systems and natural lighting enhances the environmental performance of the building, setting a precedent for future developments.
