The "Tenne" project by Thomas Kröger is a durable renovation project of a charming historic barn originally constructed in the 1870s in Brandenburg, Germany. Initially serving as a stable, the conversion in 2014 saw it evolve into a rural estate featuring a standalone holiday apartment. This revitalization increased the usable surface area to 440 m², preserving the rustic charm of the original structure while offering modern amenities for visitors to enjoy.

This project contributes to the social-ecological transformation through adaptive reuse of a historic barn. Utilizing sustainable materials and energy-efficient design, it minimizes environmental impact while revitalizing rural communities and promoting tourism. This approach showcases the potential of sustainable development to preserve heritage and enhance local economies.
