The Prague Eyes project by Petr Janda/Brainwork is a visionary revitalization of a historic infrastructure on the banks of the Vltava river in the Czech Republic’s capital. Built in the late 19th century, the Rašín Embankment was an important commercial and public space during the 20th century, but fell into disuse and was turned into a car park after the floods of 2002. The 2019 transformation brings the area back to life with bars, cafés, a gallery, a club and a workshop. This project contributes to the social-ecological transformation by repurposing existing infrastructure into multi-functional spaces, reducing the need for new construction. Its modern design maintains a strong dialogue with the history of the site, making Prague Eyes a gathering place with which the local community can identify.
