Waterforth Health Park

dhb architects

The Waterford Health Park by dhb architects is a transformative renovation project of a serene Convent in Waterford, Ireland. While the structure was previously a haven for spiritual contemplation, the conversion in 2009 has ushered in a new era, turning it into a bustling medical health center. This expansion has significantly increased the usable surface area, accommodating vital facilities such as new entrance structures, consultation rooms, community spaces, and various amenities including a coffee shop, healing garden, yoga and pilates studios.

This project contributes to the social-ecological transformation by repurposing a historically significant structure, minimizing the environmental impact of new construction, and incorporating sustainable features such as grey water systems. Its recognition in prestigious publications and awards underscores its exemplary approach to conservation and sustainable reuse, setting a standard for future endeavors.
