Revitalisierung Hinterhaus

DI Simon Moosbrugger Architekt ZT

Revitalization Hinterhaus (rear building) by Simon Moosbrugger is a agricultural building of the 18th century in the heart of the Bregenzerwald, Austria, While the building was meanwhile used as holiday home, the transformation of 2023 provided permanent living and working under one roof, increasing the usable surface area from 125m² to 200m² within the same volume.

This project contributes to the socio-ecological transformation by making existing structures sustainable and by demonstrating in an exemplary manner that spatial qualities can be implemented in the hundreds of vacant rear buildings in the region without significantly changing the appearance of the building and its harmonious volumes or even demolishing them.
